Visit to New England

We just got back to Washington after a very relaxing and much needed trip to Maine and Rhode Island. Cam got his first haircut in a Salon. He loved the pampering and attention, and was so good the whole time.
We did a lot of visiting with friends and family, but the month went by so fast. I wish I had a little more time with every one :)

Cam dressed up as Santa for Christmas, it was adorable. He still is not that into presents, but he loves the wrapping paper and tape!

Finally!!!!!

Finally, Rick is home from Iraq safe and sound! We have had an amazing 3 weeks sharing stories and enjoying our relaxing days together. It has been truly amazing for me to watch Rick and Cam spend time together and bond as father and son.
There is no better feeling than waking up to both of my boys in one house! :)
Thank you to every one who has supported us and made the past year easier to bear! We love you all! You all helped and encouraged us in different and important ways, we are so grateful for your place in our lives.
We can't wait to see every one in December!

All our love,
Jess, Rick, and Cam

Walking...

Cameron took his first real sturdy steps about a month ago, and has really started to master the use of those legs since his first birthday. He is all over the place now and there is no stopping him, he is a boy on a mission!
I have been hoping that all of this walking would really tire him out, and maybe he'd start sleeping through the night. No luck on that one yet, but I am not losing hope!

Rick should be home in about three weeks now, just in time for Cam to be able to walk to him as he gets off the plane! I can't believe how much my little guy has grown and changed in the last year, and I am sure that Rick will be amazed when he finally gets to see him in person too!

Cam's First Birthday!

Cameron is ONE!!! I can't believe a full year has passed since he was born, it seems like I was at Mercy hospital looking at his beautiful face for the first time only days ago.

We had his Birthday party on Sunday He was surrounded by tons of great friends and family and got a little spoiled in the gift department :) It was a beautiful day, warm and sunny, and we had a ton of great food! The only thing that was missing was his Daddy, but we did get to talk to him online for a couple hours and got to see him through the web camera!!! We saved Rick a piece of the great cake my mom made him, and put it in the freezer so he can have it when he gets home from Iraq.
Cam had some vegan cake, since he is allergic to all things dairy, it was pretty darn good if I do say so myself! He loved it and made a real mess with it!
I have enjoyed every second of being Cam's mommy, and can't wait to see how much he will grow and change in the next year!!!

I Love My Daddy!

Cam has learned to love his Daddy through the computer, he actually calls the computer Dada. We will have to change all of that very soon, Rick will be home in just over 2 months! This deployment has been long, and we sure are ready for him to be home! As much as I love sumer, I am willing it to go by as fast as it can, I am just waiting for October.

Napping in the Wagon

Cam was having a very good time playing in this little wagon, so good that he fell asleep in it! It doesn't look comfortable to me , but he slept in it for about 25 or 30 minutes.
He must have been awful tired to stay scrunched up in this too small wagon meant for Legos. Maybe he needs a big boy sized wagon for his Birthday next month!
Sweet Dreams baby!

I can stand Mommy!

Now that Cam can pull himself up to standing he is getting into everything! Nap time is very tricky because if he doesn't want to sleep, he will stand up and yell! He has even put some nice marks on his crib from his big teeth!
He sure does think he is a pretty big deal now! He looks less like a baby and more like a toddler every day. They just grow so fast, I just hope he holds off on the walking for a while :)
